Looking forward to Kick Ass
I am probably going to get crap from 100% of my friends, but I have been looking at trailers for the new movie Kick Ass and am really looking forward to it. It looks really fun. I am a big Nick Cage fan as well, and he is looking very Raising Arizona-ish in this one. I hope I am not setting myself up for disappointment, but I will definitely watch it in spite of how it’s reviewed, and will probably put shirts into my comic book t shirt section.
Of course, I loved Mystery Men, so this one will have to really suck to disappoint me.
Anyway, just got done uploading some new Star Wars shirts, including this particular gem. I love this one. Stormtroopers are so freaking cool. I’m going to be adding more girls shirts tomorrow too.
That’s pretty much it. I just wanted to comment on Kick Ass after having seen the trailers.
Avatar losing at the Emmies
So I was thinking this week about Avatar losing out to Precious at the Emmies and, like most geeks, feel that James Cameron got ripped off. I mean, I’m sure Precious was great and all (haven’t seen it yet. Looks like it could be a bummer, and not in the cool “aliens win and destroy humanity” bummer. I’ve seen Avatar 4 times) but I have to ask myself, “What movie will I buy on DvD and watch another 100 times in my lifetime?” The answer to that is, of course, Avatar.
I think Avatar will end up making perfect painting background material, much like the whole Lord of the Rings is. I can only hope they offer an extended version with a lot of deleted scenes inserted into the body of the movie. I hate it when you have click on each extra scene in the menu and then try to figure out where it was supposed to go. If I wanted to interact with my TV I would be watching cable and channel surfing.
The other 3D movie I need to see is the new Alice in Wonderland. The Johnny Depp poster looks kind of freaky, but I think it will be great. Speaking of that poster, I have it coming in as a t shirt soon (I hope). Meanwhile, I just got this cool Alice in Wonderland Zenescope t shirt, which will have to go into my comic book t shirts section, as Zenescope is a really cool indy comic book producer. I think I am going to look for a couple of trade on this series.
Someone has a case of the Mondays
Stayed up too late last night and woke up sluggish. Our pickup missed a couple boxes and I opted to ride my bike to the post office and drop them off (gotta get some kind of exercise…). In spite of the fact that the sun was out it was kind of cold and somehow I was riding into the wind both directions. Then, on the way home, in spite of being in the sunshine I somehow got rained on. Weird. Anyway, came back to the office and found a whole slew of tech problems and a huge pile of new shirts that need descriptions. Bad karma day, which I get about every year and a half. I think my best plan is to turn off the phone, stop with the email, and just sit here at my computer working on new t shirts.
Anyway, other than that things are great. Getting ready for WonderCon, which means I need to order a lot of t shirts. I think I will be bringing posters too. So much for eating this month. LOL. Anyway, I’m trying to figure out which shirts to bring. I think it seems obvious to bring comic book tees, but I think everyone will have those. I am looking at bringing some of the more obscure shirts for the more discriminating nerd.
Anyway, I am going to sign off before I complete my bad karma day by saying something stupid. These days usually end by about 5pm, so I am looking forward to a good evening. So long.
